Blaine Duncan and the Lookers join singer/songwriter tales with a three-guitar attack.

The story begins in the summer of 2006. Blaine wasn't really looking for a band. The band sort of came to him.

After returning from a stint in Austin, Texas, Mikey Oswalt happened to catch Blaine play the singer/songwriter circuit in Tuscaloosa a couple of times. It wasn't long before Oswalt approached him, and the formation of the Lookers began.

After going through a couple of bass players, Ryan Akers joined the band full time and the three-piece band began to find their sound as they searched for a lead guitar player.

Enter David Phillips, who brought the sound of the South with his blues-inspired guitar. Soon, the band recorded The Missing Honeybess Demo in April 2007.

This line up for the Lookers continued until January 2008. Ham Bagby, who had both coached and coerced Blaine to keep playing during the singer/songwriter years, officially joined the band at the beginning of 2008 after constantly helping the band when needed.

Fast forward to August 2008 and after many shows, the Lookers recorded their debut, full-length, self-titled album.

Sadly, Ryan Akers moved to Colorado in late October of 2008, which opened the door to Kendall Rich.

The band continues to this day. Their songs take the simple strut of barroom heart and soul to illuminate differently on everything from apolalyptic heartbreak, love at the carnival, or country-rock anthems. Look for their new album on this page, iTunes, or other online retailers.
